Sending to BCS lists (Pro/Enterprise feature)

With JungleMail, you can send newsletters to SharePoint Business Connectivity Services (BCS) lists. A BCS list is a type of an external list, and a key building block for SharePoint solutions that require external data. An external list looks and behaves a lot like a native SharePoint list, but there are some differences in behavior. For example, you can create views and use calculated values with formulas, but not attach files or track versions.

To send to a BCS list

1. Create an external list in your SharePoint. Read more.

2. Open JungleMail and go to the  Recipients step.

3. Select SharePoint list as a recipient source and browse to the list. Then, check if the Recipients column points to the column with email addresses.

You can also navigate directly to the BCS list and select the recipients that you want to send your newsletter to. Then, open JungleMail from the ribbon and you will see that recipients are already selected. In other words, if you already have a configured BCS list with external data, you can use it as you would use a native SharePoint list.
